We are COI swear by writing and its therapeutic value. We think it goes far beyond an activity and is extremely good for our souls and mental well-being. It helps us to get in touch with our subconscious and unleash everything on our minds.
Some of us like typing on our modern keyboards, others prefer to stay old-school with a pen and paper. After all, nothing beats the feeling of pushing a brand new ink pen against a hard bound paper.
The important thing to remember is that, you shouldn’t be writing for anyone else, write for yourself and write to make yourself feel better.
But with our fast paced lifestyles, it can be difficult to find the right time. That is why the perfect time is to write before going to bed.
To convince you, here are 5 reasons why you should be writing before going to bed.
1. Release your thoughts (both good and bad)
From that annoying bus conductor to that office colleague who only wants you to fail and the pani puri wala who forgets to give you sukhi puri at the end, we carry a lot of stress with us every day. And we often end up taking all those worries with us to bed.
Writing every night gives you an opportunity to write all these worries and release your thoughts before sleeping.
2. Go to bed with a clearer mind
As you release all the negativity on your mind and end the day on a more positive note, you end up going to bed with a much clearer mind. And that doesn’t just guarantee you a good night sleep, it also means that you will wake up with a positive and a fresh mind. Don’t we all wish for that every day?
3. Record a journal
Writing about your daily thoughts every night also means that there is a record of everything going around you. It is a great way to look back at things and read what you were feeling that day.
So some day when you are feeling rather depressed, you can just flip the page over and read about a day when things were better and you were incredibly happy.
4. Acknowledge gratitude towards others
